Spam Musubi Recipe Mirin

Spam musubi is a popular snack and lunch food composed of a slice of grilled spam on top of or sandwiched in between a block of rice wrapped together with nori. While rice cools, in a small bowl mix together the soy sauce, sugar and mirin / rice vinegar.

Spam musubi recipe mirin. Inexpensive and portable, spam musubi is commonly found near cash registers in convenience stores all over hawaii. Place the spam and rice piece on top of your nori strip. Open 1 can of spam, cut spam into 10 pieces.

While the rice is pressure cooking, mix 2 tablespoons japanese soy sauce, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, and (optional) 2 tablespoons mirin together in a glass measuring cup. With all the spam slices in the pan, add the soy sauce mixture and swirl the pan around to evenly distribute. On work surface, cut nori to desired width.

Another option is to use a spam musubi mold, which you can find on amazon. Pan fry the spam slices over medium high heat until lightly browned on each side. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium high heat.

Heat a large skillet to medium heat and add spam slices. I used the empty spam container as a mold to cut the omelettes. Scoop enough rice into the musubi shaper to make a thin layer.

Place one to two slices of spam on top of the compacted rice (again depending on your mold). Wrap nori around the space and rice. There are plenty of varieties too, you can add scrambled eggs or sunny side up egg in between.

Approximate nutrient analysis per musubi (using 1/2 the mirin. Fry spam slices until evenly browned and crispy, 2 to 3 minutes each side, bringing the heat to low for the last minute of cooking, then turn off the heat. Place the spam and push the musubi with the musubi maker lid.

Pull both sides of the seaweed up and seal tight. Place a strip (or two depending on the size of your mold) under your musubi mold. Remove the musubi maker and wrap it with the seaweed and you're done.

Place the musubi maker on top of a sheet of dried seaweed and fill it with rice. Delicious even if you can’t find any mirin or shoyu. Mix the mirin, soy sauce and sugar together until well combined then soak the spam slices in there until they are evenly covered.

Brush some teriyaki sauce on top of the rice and place a piece of spam on top of the rice. Wrap nori around pressed spam® classic and rice. Wet both hands with water, arrange the rice into the musubi maker and press it tight using the presser.

Roll the spam and rice, bringing the nori with it, to firmly wrap the musubi in the nori. Musubi may be served warm or chilled. Remove from the heat and let cool slightly.

Working quickly to avoid burning, add the soy mixture and turn the spam slices until evenly coated in glaze. Lift the plastic cling wrap and remove the spam and rice as one piece from the spam can. Add the spam slices to the pan and make sure they are coated in the sauce.

Remove musubi mold and wrap nori around the musubi, sealing edge with a small amount of the mirin mixture. Press the rice firmly with the musubi compressor. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes or until the liquid is nearly absorbed.

The spam musubi is now ready to eat. In a bowl or in a deep plate, mix all the ingredients of the marinade. Step 1, cut spam into 10 slices.

In another pan, combine soy sauce, mirin and sugar. Lightly coat the bottom of a large skillet with oil and heat over medium. To serve, cut musubi in half (for parties, cut into fourths).

Add the spam slices and let marinate for at least 15 minutes but for a better result, i let mine for about 1 hour. Slice luncheon meat lengthwise into 10 slices, or to desired thickness, and marinate in sauce for 5 minutes. Heat medium size sauté pan with light oil.

Mix until the sugars are totally dissolved. Place spam® classic on rice in press or in can. Cut 3 pieces of nori into 9 long strips.

In same pan, add garlic and chili paste, cooking for 1 minute or until garlic is cooked through. It will be used as the mould to form the musubi. Pour in the sauce and cook under medium high heat until the sauce bubbles and coats the meat.

Musubi can be easily made with the right materials. Continue cooking over medium heat until the sauce thickened and coats the spam slices. Mix mirin, sake, soy sauce, and sugar in a bowl and pour over the fried spam.

In a large nonstick skillet at medium heat, brown the spam slices in the neutral oil for 2 or 3 minutes each side. Also place the omelette on top. Remove spam® classic and rice from musubi press or can.

Use the press to compact it in the mold. Cut spam into 10 slices and fry until crispy. Cook slices for 2 minutes per side, or until lightly browned.

Cut nori sheets in half and lay on a flat work surface. Add 2 tbsp oil into a large skillet or pan and cook the spam slices until nicely brown on both sides. 1 box (500 g) sushi rice 1 tablespoon oil 2 can (200g) spam, cut crosswise into 4 slices 5.

Wash the tin and wipe dry. Remove and drain on plate lined with paper towels. With the spam on top of the rice, place the molded stack onto the end of one piece of nori, leaving about ¼” nori overhanging.

Whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, and mirin. Add spam® hot & spicy to pan and cook until sauce starts to stick. Lay the sheet of nori on a clean surface.

Fry the spam slices until evenly browned and crispy, 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Simmer on low until sauce thickens and then remove spam. Mix oyster sauce, soy sauce and sugar until sugar is dissolved and add to the bag with the spam.

In another pan, combine soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Place musubi shaper on top of the nori (in the center). Lay a piece of nori on a clean work surface.

Immediately transfer the spam slices and glaze to a plate. Add more rice to fill musubi mold; Sprinkle furikake over the rice, add a piece of spam, more furikake, and lastly, more rice.

Marinate for about 15 minutes. Lightly coat the bottom of a large skillet with the oil and heat over medium heat until sizzling. Fill mold with about three inches of rice.

Brush the unagi sauce on the inner side of the nori; Top it with rice sprinkles.
